I feel like every year the store windows turn red, green, and gold much sooner. This year, these colors have emerged even before Halloween. Well, at least, the decreasing temperatures don't seem as painful when Santa Clause is smiling at you through the window. And with the approach of the holidays, it's time to purchase gifts for family and friends. So, even though I haven't been posting on the blog, I've been designed a ton of new pieces that I think you will enjoy. So check back on the website soon to see these new creations!

So, Classic Funk is beginning to gain some recognition as the word continues to spread. We will be profiled on Indie Quarter's blog (www.indiequarter.com/blog) in the next couple of weeks. Indie Quarter highlights independent designers and their work. In addition, we were invited to participate in Style Bakery's Designers on the Rise issue in October (www.stylebakery.com). Style Bakery will showcase a myriad of designers and their creations through March 2007. I'll post more with the direct links but just wanted to share the news!

Just wanted to share with you one of my newest creations. It seems that gold and circles are emerging as trends for the fall. So, I decided to dangle coral drops and gold-filled circles from spring wire. I like how the drops fit within the confines of the circle and the way the coral complements the gold. I might try the design with other colors, such as citrine and turquoise. Hope you enjoy them and check back for the launch of the rest of the collection!

Thank you so much for all of your feedback and support of the site over the past month. However, I've been sensing a high demand for earrings. So, they are under construction at the moment! Get ready for gemstones dangling from gold-plated chain, pearls suspended inside metal circles, chandeliers, and some simple precious stone drops. Keep spreading the word!

Hi all,

I just wanted to say hi and express my excitement for the upcoming weeks. Hopefully, www.classicfunk.com will be launched extremely soon (thanks to our webmaster, Kevin) and I can’t wait to hear all of your feedback. As some of you know, making jewelry just began as one of my hobbies. I’ve
always had the urge to ditch the academic world (currently my studies in psychology) and invest in my creative side. At first, I started to collect and accumulate different types of beads, gemstones, shells, pearls, and coral. Working with various shapes, colors, and textures, I realized that the combining of these unique elements was the most thrilling and difficult part of the process. I meticulously select each piece of Czech glass, each shell, each sea pearl, each Swarvoski crystal, and each piece of branched coral and combine them together in a way that enhances their beauty. I try to individualize each piece as well, whether I add a vintage clasp or
scatter Venetian glass beads throughout.

Thus, these pieces that I’ve created blend precious, high-quality elements in an inventive fashion. I’m psyched to share these little treasures with
you. Thanks for all of your help and support!
